LATAM taps Quvia for connected-cabin intelligence

LATAM Airlines is deploying Quvia’s edge-to-cloud network platform to gain an independent, real-time view of in-flight connectivity performance and passenger Quality of Experience across its flights, aircraft and routes. The capability will help the airline assess what passengers experience during onboard Wi-Fi sessions and support broader efforts to improve connectivity and the customer journey.

Quvia’s system combines application-level passenger QoE information with network-performance data, allowing LATAM to identify connectivity issues, track service performance and assess the factors driving the onboard experience. The platform is designed to provide an additional layer of intelligence alongside existing connectivity information, rather than relying solely on network-level or provider-supplied data.

The deployment forms part of LATAM’s wider investment in digital services, cabin modernisation and onboard Wi-Fi. Jaime Swett Cornejo, the airline’s director of cabin interior and IFEC, described the data as a means of identifying improvement opportunities and informing future decisions as the connected cabin develops.

Quvia’s aviation business is focused on measuring application performance and network conditions in real time, with artificial intelligence used to support connectivity and data-management decisions. The agreement could give LATAM greater visibility when evaluating its IFC environment, although the companies have not disclosed contract value, aircraft numbers, providers, routes, installation details or a rollout timetable.
