Heart Aerospace has unveiled the ES-36, a 36-seat hybrid-electric regional airliner, alongside a deposit-backed purchase agreement from JSX for 50 aircraft and purchase rights for 50 more. The deal upgrades JSX’s 2023 letter of intent into a firmer commitment and gives the Dallas-based public charter operator early delivery positions for Heart’s new production aircraft.
The ES-36 is the Swedish developer’s revised regional model and replaces the earlier ES-30 concept with six additional seats. Heart and JSX did not disclose financial terms. The agreement was announced in Los Angeles and Dallas and deepens an existing partnership between the two companies.
Reuters reported that JSX operates from private terminals and uses regional routes, making the order relevant to the market for short-haul connectivity at smaller airports. Heart positions the ES-36 as its production aircraft, and the order provides an early commercial vote of confidence in the redesign as the programme moves forward.
