Joy Airline postpones Argentina launch after halting ticket sales

Joy Airline has delayed the start of its Argentina operation and suspended ticket sales ahead of an inaugural service that had been due on 30 September. The planned launch centred on domestic routes from Jujuy to Buenos Aires/Aeroparque and Córdoba, with the carrier preparing to deploy a Bombardier CRJ-200LR configured for 50 passengers.

The move leaves the entry of a new cabotage operator in Argentina on hold while Joy works through booking-platform and payment-system adjustments. Early fares had already been published and were under review for possible revision, as the airline sought to make them more competitive while keeping its market position intact.

CEO Juan Maggio had been identified in earlier reporting on the launch plan, which included daily service on the Jujuy–Aeroparque sector before a Jujuy–Córdoba connection. No replacement start date has been confirmed, and the pause has added uncertainty around the carrier’s first scheduled flights in the country.
