Tecnam Proposes Italian Regional Airline to Operate P2012 Commuter Services via Altair

Tecnam Group unveiled a strategic vision at an ENAC event on 13 July 2026 to launch a new Italian regional airline operating the P2012 Traveller, with subsidiary Altair Solutions designated as the operational backbone for maintenance and aviation services. The proposal targets Italy’s regional connectivity gap using the 12-seat twin-turboprop, certified under EASA CS-23 and FAA FAR Part 23, designed to replace aging commuter aircraft. While the airline’s name remains undisclosed and no route licenses or contracts are confirmed, the initiative marks Tecnam’s shift from pure manufacturing into commercial airline operations, leveraging Altair’s FBO infrastructure developed at Capua Airport to support turboprop and business jet operators across the Mediterranean.
