Iberia unveils centenary programme and special A350 livery

Iberia has unveiled a year-long centenary programme ahead of its 100th anniversary in 2027, alongside a special commemorative livery for one of its Airbus A350-900s. The airline’s milestone falls on 28 June 2027, with the main institutional event scheduled for June at its La Muñoza maintenance centre in Madrid.

The programme will span air displays at Cuatro Vientos, exhibitions and events at Casa de América, a business gathering at the Madrid Stock Exchange and joint activities with the training ship Juan Sebastián de Elcano. Iberia will also open centenary spaces in Madrid, Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Mexico City and São Paulo, underlining its Spain-Latin America network.

The special livery features a large red “100” across the fuselage and is intended to make the centenary visible across the fleet. Iberia is linking the celebrations to service upgrades, including refurbished long-haul cabins, fleetwide free high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi and a renewed culinary offer developed with Spain’s Royal Academy of Gastronomy.

The centenary forms part of Iberia’s wider Flight Plan 2030. The carrier has expanded its long-haul fleet from 43 aircraft at the start of 2025 to 51, with a target of around 70.
