Heli-One has opened a dedicated S-92 Center of Excellence and customer support center in Rio de Janeiro, marking the first facility of its kind for the type in Brazil. The opening on 27 May 2026 follows a strategic cooperation agreement announced in July 2025 between Heli-One, Sikorsky and Milestone Aviation to establish a regional hub for the S-92.
The center is operated by Heli-One, the MRO division of CHC Helicopter Group, in partnership with Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, and lessor Milestone Aviation. It is designed to provide maintenance, technical support and access to critical spare parts for S-92 operators, with a focus on Brazil’s offshore sector and neighboring South American markets.
The facility consolidates support for S-92 fleets used in offshore oil and gas transport and search and rescue missions. It is intended to reduce aircraft downtime by bringing MRO capabilities and stocked components, such as major transmission systems and rotor blades, closer to operators.
No public figures have been released for investment levels, annual maintenance capacity or staffing at the Rio site. The available information also does not detail whether the center is fully ramped up from the opening date or will increase capabilities progressively over time.
