flydubai will pause its Dubai-Salzburg service from 17 September until 10 December 2026 and will not resume its Basel flights as previously planned. The carrier will now suspend the Basel route from 2 October 2026 through 30 June 2027, trimming two niche European links from its schedule just weeks before the winter season.
Salzburg had only returned at the end of June, but the route will now be taken out of service again after mid-September. Basel had been due to restart in early October, with four weekly frequencies, but that reinstatement will not go ahead. flydubai informed sales partners of the changes on Monday, while its public winter schedule update made no mention of either destination.
For passengers booked on Basel services, rerouting onto Emirates flights via Zurich remains available. The changes underline how flydubai is adjusting its European network as it reshapes capacity ahead of the winter timetable period.
