Flair Airlines has signed a 15-year agreement with Lufthansa Technik Canada covering engine maintenance and digital services for its 18 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines. The work will be centred in Calgary, where Lufthansa Technik is building its engine MRO presence, and the airline will shift maintenance previously performed outside Canada into the new local operation.
The package goes beyond shop-floor maintenance to include condition monitoring, predictive health analytics, engineering support and records management. Lufthansa Technik has already inducted the first engines for quick-turn services, with more than 100 maintenance events in Calgary expected over the coming years.
The deal makes Flair the second major customer for Lufthansa Technik’s Calgary operation. Terms were not disclosed, and the agreement adds to a broader Canadian maintenance footprint while bringing engine work back from facilities in the United States and elsewhere.
