Etihad upgrades Gothenburg route to year-round service with A321LR

Etihad Airways has converted its planned Abu Dhabi–Gothenburg service from a winter seasonal link into a year-round route before the first flight, after strong early demand. The route is due to start on 17 December 2026 and will operate four times a week with the Airbus A321LR, extending the airline’s network into western Sweden and beyond Abu Dhabi.

The change removes the original seasonal end date of 21 March 2027 and turns Gothenburg into a permanent addition to Etihad’s network. Etihad has positioned the city as a gateway for travellers from western Sweden connecting through Abu Dhabi to destinations across its wider route map. The airline also describes Gothenburg as its 15th new destination launched in 2026, underlining the pace of its network expansion this year.

Etihad’s destination page continues to list Gothenburg as flying from December 2026, indicating the route remains part of the airline’s launch programme even after the upgrade to year-round service.
