EgyptAir plans to launch a Cairo–Singapore–Sydney service in 2027, restoring its presence in Australia after about 25 years. The proposed route would use an Airbus A350-900 and give Sydney a new link to Cairo via Singapore, with EgyptAir targeting a return to the market it last served in 2002.
The move would extend the carrier’s long-haul network and add a rare same-airline connection between North Africa and Australia. It would also give Sydney another long-haul option and, if it proceeds as planned, could become EgyptAir’s furthest destination.
Details on frequencies, ticket sales and the exact start date have not yet been finalised. The route fits a broader trend of Asia-based one-stop services between Australia and Europe, the Middle East and Africa, using Singapore as an intermediate stop on a new Australia–Egypt corridor.
