easyJet will introduce onboard Wi-Fi for the first time through a partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink, with installation beginning in the first half of 2027 across its Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo fleets. The rollout is expected to be completed by early 2028, enabling passengers to connect using personal devices from takeoff to landing, including for browsing, streaming and work.
easyJet’s European narrowbody operation will receive the service progressively, although the airline has not disclosed the installation sequence or the number of aircraft involved. Commercial terms, including whether passengers will pay for access, have also not been published.
The agreement reverses an earlier position from easyJet chief executive Kenton Jarvis, who said in January that Starlink’s economics did not work for the airline. The new arrangement extends high-speed satellite connectivity into the low-cost carrier sector, where onboard internet has historically been less widespread than among full-service airlines.
The service is intended to support higher-bandwidth activities on passengers’ own devices, including streaming, cloud-based work and staying in contact during flights. Access to flight-status or destination information through easyJet’s digital channels has also been referenced, but the airline has not provided full details of those features.
