DFS Aviation Services (DAS) and Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) have signed a memorandum of understanding in Langen, Germany, to develop air traffic control and navigation services together. The partnership centres on digital transformation, innovation and modern air traffic management solutions, with the aim of improving efficiency, expanding capacity and supporting long-term sustainability.
The cooperation covers ATM system architectures, cloud-based services, automation, airspace optimisation, air traffic flow management, remote tower concepts and advanced air mobility. Both companies plan to jointly develop and assess new operational and technological approaches, while accelerating the transfer of innovative technologies into day-to-day operations. The agreement links a German aviation services provider with Saudi Arabia’s air navigation organisation as both look to modernise their operations and build future-facing ATM capabilities.
