Boeing and the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace have reached a tentative revised four-year contract covering about 17,000 professional and technical workers, after members rejected the earlier offer in August. The agreement, which still needs ratification by the union membership, comes before current contracts expire on 6 October and reduces the risk of disruption to engineering work tied to Boeing’s key programmes.
Under the updated package, workers would receive a 10% guaranteed wage increase from 16 October, followed by a 4% rise in March 2027 and annual wage pools of 6% in 2028, 2029 and 2030, with a guaranteed minimum increase of 4% in each of those years. The revised terms also adjust work-from-home language, tighten overtime limits for professional-unit members and introduce a process for communicating Boeing’s future workforce needs.
The union said bargaining had concluded and its negotiating teams were recommending acceptance of the final offer. Boeing and SPEEA resumed talks after the August rejection, with the new deal emerging as both sides sought to avoid a strike threat at the end of the current contract cycle.
