Biman Bangladesh Airlines has ordered 11 more Boeing aircraft, adding five 787-10 Dreamliners and six 737-8 jets to its fleet plan. The new deal lifts the carrier’s Boeing order book for 2026 to 25 aircraft and extends a programme aimed at renewing the airline’s long-haul and short-haul capacity.
The latest purchase builds on Biman’s earlier order this year for 14 Boeing aircraft, which was its largest ever at the time. Together, the two agreements cover 13 787-10s, two 787-9s and 10 737-8s.
The arrangement also carried a wider commercial backdrop. It was linked to Bangladesh’s efforts to deepen trade ties with the United States and ease pressure from the country’s trade imbalance. The deal was scheduled for signing in New York, with the US ambassador describing it as a positive step for bilateral relations.
Boeing and Biman did not disclose pricing, financing terms or delivery schedules for the additional aircraft.
