Azul marked 10 years of operations in Portugal in Lisbon on Thursday, highlighting a decade of service that began with its first European route to the city in 2016. The airline has carried more than 2.5 million passengers between Brazil and Portugal and operated more than 10,400 flights over the period.
The anniversary event brought together partners, tourism representatives, authorities and guests in Lisbon, including at the official residence of the Brazilian ambassador. Azul’s vice-president for institutional and corporate affairs, Fábio Campos, used the occasion to underline the carrier’s role in the Portugal-Brazil market and its international connectivity strategy.
Portugal remains a key market in Azul’s long-haul network. The airline now serves Lisbon and Porto, having expanded beyond its original Lisbon operation, and currently operates about 102 monthly flights on the Lisbon-Campinas route. The Portugal network also includes roughly 29,000 monthly seats on the Lisbon service and about 9,200 on the Porto service.
