BermudAir to become second global operator of E190F freighter

BermudAir will add a leased Embraer E190F freighter from Regional One, becoming the second airline worldwide to operate the type and the first in the Americas. The aircraft will give the Bermuda carrier dedicated cargo capacity for express parcels, e-commerce and other time-sensitive freight across Bermuda, the Caribbean, the United States and Canada, moving it beyond reliance on passenger bellyhold space.

The E190F is being introduced as regional freight demand grows in island and nearshore markets where dedicated lift remains limited. BermudAir’s passenger fleet currently includes E175 and E190 aircraft serving ten destinations across the Caribbean, the US and Canada, and the freighter will sit alongside that network rather than replace it.

The aircraft is still subject to regulatory review and approval. Embraer’s E-Freighter programme has been building momentum through conversion orders, and BermudAir’s entry gives the type its second operator while opening a new geographic market for the model in the Americas. The E190F is configured with more than 100 cubic metres of cargo volume and a payload of up to 13.5 tonnes.
