Avianca will begin retrofitting its Boeing 787 fleet in 2027 with new Collins Aerospace business-class suites featuring sliding doors and an upgraded Panasonic Avionics entertainment system. The cabin refresh will bring a more private premium product to the airline’s long-haul operation, including services to Europe and New York, as Avianca continues to update its international offering.
The INSIGNIA-branded suites will replace the carrier’s existing business-class cabin on selected 787s and are expected to form part of a broader premium-cabin strategy across the widebody fleet. The redesign includes fully flat seating with direct aisle access and privacy doors, while the entertainment upgrade will introduce 4K OLED displays and Bluetooth connectivity.
Avianca has positioned the project as the next stage in its premium-cabin evolution, with the retrofit programme set to roll out during 2027. Aviation trade reports indicate the first aircraft to be modified will include the airline’s 787-8s, though the final configuration across the fleet has not been fully detailed.
