Avianca will refresh its Insignia premium cabin on the Boeing 787-8 fleet with enclosed suites fitted with sliding doors, beginning service in 2027. The upgrade targets long-haul routes linking Europe and New York with Bogotá, and forms part of a wider premium-cabin and airport-experience overhaul led through Abra Group procurement.
The new layout is designed around greater privacy and comfort for overnight flying, with reverse-herringbone-style suites, 19-inch 4K screens, Bluetooth audio and upgraded charging and entertainment systems. Francisco Raddatz, chief procurement officer of Abra Group, outlined the project as a response to demand for a more private long-haul product.
Secondary coverage indicates the retrofit will roll across Avianca’s 787-8 fleet progressively, with some reports pointing to all 16 aircraft. The cabin refresh also brings upgraded soft product elements, including Meridian noise-cancelling headphones, pajamas, slippers and revised amenity kits, while broader premium changes are also planned at Bogotá’s Eldorado hub.
