Austrian Airlines has put its first Airbus A320neo equipped with Starlink internet into regular service, with OE-LXF operating the inaugural scheduled passenger flight from Vienna to Porto on Monday. The new aircraft is the first in Austrian’s narrow-body fleet to offer the Lufthansa Group’s Starlink-based Wi-Fi product, which is available free of charge to Miles & More members and Travel ID users across all cabin classes.
OE-LXF is also the first of six brand-new A320neo aircraft joining Austrian’s fleet renewal programme. The airline plans to fit 20 aircraft with Starlink by the end of the winter 2026/27 timetable, extending the high-speed connectivity product across more of its short- and medium-haul operation. Voice and video calls remain prohibited, and passengers must use headphones for audio and video playback. The launch gives Austrian its first live passenger rollout of Starlink and places the carrier among the latest Lufthansa Group airlines to introduce the system.
