Condor faces fresh pressure from majority owner Attestor to cut costs as the airline is told to save about 100 million euros in each of the next two business years. The savings target, relayed to staff at a town hall meeting on Thursday, centres on Condor’s shift from leisure carrier to network airline and includes spending cuts tied to its operating model and workforce.
Of the planned annual savings, 65 million euros are expected from renegotiating licences and partner contracts, while 35 million euros should come from personnel measures, including about 10 million euros in the cabin. The cabin union UFO passed the management message on to members. Condor has already informed staff representatives that it has “basically agreed” on a future pact, though it has not confirmed the exact target publicly.
The program fits into a wider restructuring effort at the Frankfurt-based carrier, where management links new agreements to competitiveness and growth. Attestor holds 51% of Condor and has invested 450 million euros in the airline, making the cost push central to fleet, labour and network planning.
