Airbus Q3 profit falls 9% as delivery target remains unchanged

Airbus reported a 9% year-on-year decline in third-quarter adjusted EBIT to €1.768 billion as lower commercial aircraft deliveries and integration costs weighed on results. Revenue fell 2% to €17.469 billion. The manufacturer kept its 2026 guidance unchanged, including a target of around 870 commercial aircraft deliveries, despite the weaker quarterly performance.

For the first nine months, Airbus delivered 547 commercial aircraft, up from 507 a year earlier: 68 A220s, 428 A320 Family aircraft, 13 A330s and 38 A350s. Revenue rose 7% to €50.645 billion, while adjusted EBIT increased 8% to €4.495 billion.

The third-quarter profit decline also reflected a less favourable business mix at Commercial Aircraft and Airbus Helicopters. Costs associated with integrating work packages acquired from Spirit AeroSystems added pressure. Stronger performance at Defence and Space partly offset these factors.

The delivery target requires Airbus to hand over about 323 aircraft in the fourth quarter. The company also maintained its full-year adjusted EBIT forecast of about €7.5 billion and free cash flow before customer financing of around €4.5 billion. The guidance assumes no further disruption to trade, air traffic, supply chains, internal operations or the manufacturer’s ability to deliver.

Chief executive Guillaume Faury cited strong demand and production ramp-ups across civil and military programmes, while stressing delivery and quality.
