Airbus opens integrated A320 delivery centre in Toulouse to speed handovers

Airbus has opened a new integrated delivery centre for its A320 family at the Jean-Luc Lagardère site in Toulouse, consolidating preparation, technical adjustments and customer handover work in one location. The facility is designed to accelerate deliveries of A320-family jets, particularly A321neo aircraft, as the manufacturer works through a heavy backlog and seeks to improve flow between final assembly and delivery.

The new centre adds 16 aircraft positions close to the final assembly lines, up from eight in the earlier arrangement, giving Airbus more room to manage aircraft awaiting handover. It forms part of a wider industrial ramp-up in Toulouse, where two A320-family final assembly lines are operating at the Jean-Luc Lagardère site.

Airbus is under pressure to lift monthly deliveries as demand for the A320 family remains strong and customers wait longer for aircraft. Bringing delivery activities closer to assembly should reduce turnaround time and help streamline final preparation, an operational gain that matters for both production efficiency and output targets.
