Airbus delivers first A320neo from second Tianjin final assembly line to China Eastern

Airbus has delivered the first A320neo assembled on its second A320 Family final assembly line in Tianjin to China Eastern Airlines, opening a new stage in the group’s single-aisle production in China. The handover took place in northern China and gives Airbus two A320 Family assembly lines in Tianjin, part of a global network of ten, as the manufacturer continues to lift output of its best-selling jet family.

The Tianjin site has been in operation since 2008 and has already assembled and delivered more than 800 A320 Family aircraft. The additional line is designed to provide more capacity and flexibility for single-aisle demand in China and other markets, while deepening Airbus’s industrial footprint in Asia.

China Eastern remains Airbus’s largest fleet operator in mainland China and was the first Chinese airline to receive an Airbus aircraft, in 1985. The latest delivery extends that long-running relationship while supporting the broader ramp-up of A320 Family production across Airbus’s global manufacturing system.
