easyJet will introduce SpaceX’s Starlink inflight Wi-Fi across its Airbus A320, A320neo and A321neo fleet, with installation due to begin in the first half of 2027 and finish by early 2028. The service will be easyJet’s first onboard internet offering, allowing passengers to browse, stream and play games on personal devices from takeoff to landing.
The agreement reverses the airline’s position in January, when chief executive Kenton Jarvis said the economics of a Starlink deal did not work and that easyJet was considering other providers. The new agreement’s financial terms, installation costs and passenger pricing have not been disclosed.
The rollout will exclude easyJet’s A319 aircraft, which are being phased out. The airline has not published an aircraft-by-aircraft installation schedule or confirmed whether connectivity will be free or paid. SpaceX president and chief operating officer Gwynne Shotwell described the service as providing fast connectivity throughout the journey.
The partnership expands Starlink’s presence in commercial aviation, following agreements with airlines including American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines and British Airways. For easyJet, the service will bring satellite connectivity to its European short-haul operation while the carrier continues operating an all-Airbus fleet.
