TRV-150 Uses Three-Pod APKWS Launcher in Counter-UAS Test

BAE Systems has demonstrated a modified Malloy Aeronautics T-150 uncrewed aircraft intercepting multiple one-way attack drones during a US military exercise at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Designated TRV-150, the platform used a production-ready three-pod launcher carrying laser-guided 70 mm APKWS rockets, engaging several aerial targets in succession without landing or reloading.

The trials took place from 21 to 25 September as part of the Office of the Under Secretary for Research & Engineering’s Mission Capabilities Joint Readiness Experimentation exercise. SURVICE Engineering adapted the T-150 to meet US Army requirements, while BAE Systems’ FalconWorks division developed and integrated the APKWS modification kit.

The demonstration follows a July 2025 trial in which an adapted T-150 conducted a reported first single-shot firing of a precision munition against air and ground targets. The latest test added the three-pod launcher and successive aerial engagements, supporting a potential low-cost counter-UAS role for the heavy-lift aircraft.

The result remains an integration and test milestone rather than an operational deployment or procurement decision. BAE Systems did not disclose the number of drones intercepted, rockets fired, engagement ranges or target-designation method.
