Singapore Airlines to introduce next-generation KrisWorld and Starlink connectivity

Singapore Airlines will introduce a next-generation KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system and faster connectivity from 2027, combining 4K touchscreen displays with Starlink Wi-Fi on selected long-haul aircraft. KrisWorld will be installed progressively on 41 retrofitted Airbus A350-900 long-haul and A350-900ULR aircraft, as well as the airline’s forthcoming Boeing 777-9 fleet, while Starlink will also be added to Airbus A380s.

The upgraded system will offer OLED screens on selected aircraft and cabin classes, spatial audio, active-noise-cancellation headphones, Bluetooth pairing for passengers’ own headphones and a redesigned interface. The content library will include more than 2,500 films, television programmes, music and podcasts, refreshed monthly. Personalised recommendations and flight-information functions for logged-in KrisFlyer users, improved search and filtering, a mini-player, wellness content and live news and sports channels will also be available.

Starlink connectivity will be introduced progressively from early 2027 on A380s, A350-900 long-haul aircraft and A350-900ULRs. It will support streaming, social media, gaming and work on passengers’ personal devices alongside the seatback entertainment system. Unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi will continue for Suites, First Class and Business Class passengers, as well as PPS Club members and KrisFlyer members travelling in Premium Economy and Economy Class on Starlink-equipped aircraft. Singapore Airlines has not provided a full fleet-wide implementation schedule.
