The Blackhawk Group has received supplemental type certificates for anti-icing and propeller modifications and launched mobile maintenance support through its Avex Performance Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The developments, presented during NBAA-BACE 2026, expand the group’s approved modification capabilities while enabling technicians to support qualifying aircraft away from the company’s fixed facility.
The STCs allow Blackhawk to offer certified anti-ice and propeller upgrades for applicable aircraft. The approvals add to the group’s portfolio of performance and modification solutions, which are delivered through its Performance Center and maintenance network.
Avex’s Broomfield operation has also added mobile maintenance services. The field-based capability is intended to support operators at locations beyond Broomfield and could reduce the need to reposition aircraft to a maintenance shop for qualifying work. The available information does not specify the aircraft models covered by the new STCs, their technical scope, the mobile service territory, staffing arrangements or pricing.
