GE Aerospace and Military Aviation Works No. 1 (WZL-1) have finalised an agreement in Dęblin, Poland, to build domestic maintenance, repair and overhaul capability for T700/CT7 engines used on the AH-64E Apache and other rotorcraft. The deal gives WZL-1 a licensed role in supporting the engine family for Polish military aircraft, including the Apache, Black Hawk, AW149 and AW101, and completes the offset-related industrial step linked to Poland’s Apache procurement.
The arrangement is tied to Poland’s order for 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters and is designed to reduce reliance on overseas engine support. WZL-1 will be able to service engines locally in Dęblin rather than sending them abroad for major work.
The agreement is also expected to broaden the country’s repair base for roughly 350 engines across several fleets. Reports on the deal place its value at about 550 million złoty and indicate that WZL-1 will develop full level-D overhaul capability for the T700 family, including technical training and specialist equipment.
