Swiss begins Starlink rollout on first A320neo

Swiss has started rolling out Starlink internet on its Airbus A320neo fleet, beginning with HB-JDM, named Iseltwald, on a Zürich–Thessaloniki flight on Monday. The service is free for passengers in all cabins, available from boarding until deplaning, and the airline plans to equip its full fleet by 2029.

The launch puts Swiss among the first Lufthansa Group carriers to introduce the low-latency satellite service on short- and medium-haul aircraft. After Iseltwald, three more A320-family jets are next in line before the retrofit expands across the wider fleet. Passengers need to log in with a Travel ID or Miles & More service card number to connect.

The onboard service allows video and music streaming with headphones, but voice calls, video calls and livestreams remain blocked. The rollout gives Swiss a new cabin connectivity offer on its narrowbody fleet while extending a group-wide upgrade programme that is scheduled to continue through 2029.
