Mexico orders second C-130J-30 Super Hercules for air force

Mexico’s air force has acquired a second Lockheed Martin C-130J-30 Super Hercules tactical airlifter, extending its fleet modernisation drive and adding to the country’s airlift and humanitarian response capacity. The move follows Mexico’s first C-130J-30 order in January, which made it the first Latin American operator of the Super Hercules.

The stretched C-130J-30 variant adds 15 feet of cargo space and offers greater range, payload, power and fuel efficiency than older Hercules models. For the Fuerza Aérea Mexicana, the additional aircraft deepens its ability to move personnel, equipment and relief supplies across Mexico and the wider region.

Mexico has long operated Hercules transport aircraft and is replacing legacy airlifters with the newer model. The follow-on order also broadens the Super Hercules presence in Latin America and strengthens Lockheed Martin’s position in military transport modernisation across the region.
