Austrian Airlines will add about 100 extra flights for the Austrian autumn school holidays at the end of October, extending several summer leisure routes to meet stronger holiday demand. The expanded programme covers destinations including Ibiza, Fuerteventura, Funchal, Split, Palma de Mallorca, Larnaca, Rome, Naples and Nice.
The extra capacity is concentrated on short-haul leisure and city destinations that remain attractive in late autumn, with higher frequencies planned across the carrier’s European network. One report places Palma de Mallorca at 11 additional flights and Larnaca at 13, underlining Cyprus and the Balearics as key drawcards in the holiday schedule.
Austrian Airlines has used the autumn break in previous years to prolong summer services, and this year’s increase reflects the same pattern of demand in the last week of October. The airline is keeping a broader mix of sun and city routes in service for longer than usual, rather than concentrating only on core winter destinations.
