Finnair to add second Narita rotation and lift Helsinki-Tokyo capacity in summer 2027

Finnair will increase Helsinki-Tokyo capacity in the peak summer 2027 travel period to as many as three daily flights, adding a second daily service to Tokyo Narita while retaining its daily Helsinki-Haneda operation. The wider schedule will lift the carrier’s Japan network from 28 weekly flights in summer 2026 to up to 32 weekly services next summer.

The extra Narita rotation is planned from 12 May to 14 August 2027, with a couple of stated exceptions, and is timed to support strong demand for Japan travel. At peak times, the route pair will give Finnair up to two daily flights to Narita and one to Haneda, creating more options for leisure and premium travellers via Helsinki.

The schedule also strengthens connectivity beyond Japan, with the additional Tokyo frequency designed to feed Finnair’s European network. Tokyo remains the main growth point in the airline’s Japan programme, which already includes year-round services to Haneda and Narita as well as other Japanese destinations.
