China’s TMS-10 low-boom supersonic business-jet demonstrator has entered final assembly, with first flight testing planned by the end of 2026. The programme, developed by Tianmushan Laboratory with Beihang University, is positioned as a step towards a 10- to 15-seat civil supersonic aircraft rather than a commercial airliner.
The latest milestone moves the full-scale demonstrator beyond the earlier small-scale test phase. A 1:18-scale version flew at low speed in June 2025 at Dingzhou Airport in Hebei, reaching below Mach 0.2 while supporting work on take-off, landing and handling characteristics.
The larger concept targets Mach 2 cruise and subsonic operation around Mach 0.95, with design work centred on low-boom performance and sonic-boom mitigation. If the schedule holds, China would join a small group of countries and teams pursuing practical civil supersonic flight for business travel and premium tourism.
