TARMAC Aerosave has won approval from India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation for the full Airbus A320 family, allowing the French maintenance specialist to work on India-registered aircraft at its Tarbes site and issue India-recognised return-to-service releases. The approval covers all engine variants across the A320 line, expanding the company’s reach into one of the world’s largest narrowbody fleets.
The authorisation extends beyond routine line work to heavier maintenance, storage and conservation, lease-transition preparation and engine work. That broad scope gives TARMAC Aerosave a new role for Indian operators and lessors managing end-of-lease activity or requiring prolonged storage support for A320-family aircraft.
The approval was disclosed at MRO Asia-Pacific 2026 and opens a further market for the storage, maintenance and recycling specialist, which already operates from Tarbes in southern France. It also adds a regulatory recognition layer that lets maintenance carried out there feed directly into the Indian airworthiness framework.
