Safran, China Airlines sign A350-900 landing gear deal

Safran Landing Systems and Taiwan-based China Airlines have agreed to overhaul the main landing gear on the carrier’s fleet of 18 Airbus A350-900s. Signed at Safran Landing Systems’ Singapore facility during MRO Asia-Pacific, the deal covers the airline’s entire A350-900 fleet and supports landing gear maintenance needs from 2026 through 2031.

Safran will provide overhaul services and technical support for the widebody fleet, with the work carried out at its MRO centre in Singapore. The arrangement extends an existing relationship between the two companies, as China Airlines already uses Safran Landing Systems for A330 landing gear maintenance. Other China Airlines Group carriers, including Tigerair Taiwan and Mandarin Airlines, also work with the manufacturer.

The agreement broadens Safran’s maintenance footprint in Asia-Pacific while giving China Airlines long-term support for a key part of its long-haul fleet. No contract value or further operational terms were disclosed.
