Six unions representing French cabin crew and pilots have filed a five-day strike notice for 17 to 21 October, in a dispute over planned changes to post-retirement employment rules. The action covers flight crew working under French labour law and could affect services operated by French airlines or carriers employing staff on French contracts.
The unions are opposing a reform they believe would unfairly hit pilots, cabin crew and their special pension arrangements, including the CRPN scheme. Their notice applies to both technical crew, such as pilots, and commercial crew, including cabin attendants, across companies subject to French labour law.
No airline has yet detailed cancellations or other disruption, leaving the operational impact unclear. The unions have kept the door open to talks, but unless a deal is reached before mid-October, the strike could create scheduling pressure across French aviation for five consecutive days.
