Volotea launches Florence links from four Spanish cities

Volotea has started or is about to start direct flights to Florence from Seville, Asturias, San Sebastián/Hondarribia and Valencia, expanding its Italian network from several Spanish regional markets. The routes serve Florence’s Amerigo Vespucci Airport and include first-ever regular air links on some city pairs, with up to two weekly flights on each of the new services.

The Seville and Asturias routes began on 21 September, while Valencia follows on 22 September. San Sebastián/Hondarribia also joined Volotea’s Florence network on 21 September, becoming the airline’s first international route from the city and restoring regular air links with Italy after about 15 years without one. In Asturias, the addition lifts Volotea’s network there to 24 routes and adds another Italian destination.

Valencia’s new service increases the city’s Volotea network to four domestic and five international destinations. The airline has framed the launches as part of a broader expansion of its Italy offering, with the new flights scheduled at up to two weekly frequencies on the routes linking Florence with Seville, Asturias, San Sebastián/Hondarribia and Valencia.
