Airbus has inaugurated a second A320 Family delivery centre at its Jean-Luc Lagardère site in Toulouse, adding capacity to speed up the final technical and administrative steps before handover to customers. The new facility is designed to remove a bottleneck in the delivery flow for the A320 and A321, which remain central to Airbus’s single-aisle production plans.
The 35,000 sq m complex is part of Airbus’s repurposed former A380 production site and adds eight aircraft positions, with space for final adjustments and finishing work close to the assembly line. Airbus is using the site to support a planned increase in A320 Family output to 70 to 75 aircraft a month by the end of 2027, with around three quarters of production expected to be A321s. The Toulouse site now hosts two A320-family final assembly lines, after the first opened in 2023 and the second entered service in June 2026.
The expansion comes as Airbus works through a large single-aisle backlog, including a heavy concentration of A321neos, which makes delivery capacity in Toulouse increasingly important. The company has been investing in infrastructure at the Jean-Luc Lagardère complex to match higher build rates and sustain the A321 ramp-up.
