Arianespace, Aerospacelab explore Ariane 64 launch options for future European missions

Arianespace and Aerospacelab have signed a memorandum of understanding in Paris to assess launch options for future satellite missions, including those of Aerospacelab’s customers. The agreement centres on possible use of Ariane 64, the most powerful version of Ariane 6, for deploying satellite fleets tied mainly to European institutional and commercial programmes.

The cooperation is intended to match launch solutions with mission requirements and deployment schedules, rather than secure an immediate launch contract. The companies plan to identify the launch scenarios and mission configurations best suited to upcoming fleets, reflecting Aerospacelab’s growing role as a satellite manufacturer and Arianespace’s effort to align its heavy-lift capacity with constellation demand.

Aerospacelab is based in Mont-Saint-Guibert, Belgium, and has positioned its future fleets for European institutional and commercial customers. The focus on Ariane 64 links those missions with European launch capacity at a time when constellation deployment planning has become a central issue for the region’s space sector.
