The Royal Canadian Air Force has received the first two Pilatus PC-21 trainers, designated CT-157 Siskin II, in Canada, beginning deliveries for the Future Aircrew Training programme. The aircraft arrived on 17 September 2026 and will be based at 15 Wing Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, as the service prepares to replace older training platforms with a new fleet of 19 aircraft.
The CT-157s form part of a broader pilot training modernisation plan for the RCAF. The PC-21s are set to support next-generation training requirements as Canada transitions away from the Tutor jets used by the Snowbirds and related training roles. The first aircraft had previously completed their maiden flight in 2026 before handover in Switzerland and delivery to Canada.
A public display at AERO Gatineau-Ottawa also brought the new trainers into view after their arrival, underlining the start of the fleet introduction phase. Further aircraft are expected to follow as the programme ramps up at Moose Jaw.
