Lufthansa has introduced a new Bavarian traditional-costume collection for its Oktoberfest 2026 Trachtencrew, with the first flights in the updated outfits due to depart from Munich on 19 September to Bangalore and Beijing, followed by Singapore on 27 September. The uniforms were created with Bavarian clothing maker Spieth & Wensky and will be worn on selected long-haul services from the airline’s Munich hub, alongside seasonal Oktoberfest service elements on flights from Germany and in German lounges.
The new design combines traditional Bavarian dress with Lufthansa branding for the first time, including the crane logo on the buttons and a woven Wing Pattern in the fabric. Lufthansa has run traditional costume flights for two decades, beginning with a service from Munich to New York in 2006, and the refreshed collection keeps that seasonal concept in place.
The Oktoberfest programme extends beyond crew attire. European Business Class passengers will receive themed catering until 6 October, while selected long-haul flights feature Bavarian menu items. Premium travellers on those routes will also receive felt amenity kits, and lounges in Germany have been adapted with Oktoberfest-style service for the festival period.
