U.S. Navy awards Lockheed Martin $871 million F-35 support contract modification

Lockheed Martin has won an $871.2 million U.S. Navy contract modification to expand support equipment and sustainment capacity for the F-35 Lightning II. The award raises the ceiling of an existing site-activation and non-recurring sustainment effort rather than funding new aircraft, and it is aimed at strengthening the logistics base for dispersed operations across air and sea-based F-35 sites.

The work covers support for Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy operating locations, as well as cooperative programme partners and Foreign Military Sales customers. It is intended to provide additional equipment, initial sustainment supplies and other services needed to establish and activate new sites. Public reporting puts about 90% of the work in El Segundo, California, with the remainder in Fort Worth, Texas, and completion is expected in February 2031. No funds were obligated at award, with money to be issued through individual orders as required.
