TUI has chosen former easyJet chief Johan Lundgren to become chair of its supervisory board after the annual general meeting in February 2027, replacing Dieter Zetsche. The transition at the Hanover-based travel group will come when Zetsche’s current term ends and he does not seek re-election.
Shareholder and employee representatives backed Lundgren unanimously, clearing the way for a planned handover at the top of the supervisory board. Lundgren has served on the board since 2025 and previously led easyJet as chief executive from 2017 until the end of 2024.
His return to a senior TUI role brings back a manager with long experience in tourism and aviation. Before leaving the group in 2015, Lundgren held senior positions at TUI Travel plc and TUI AG, giving him direct knowledge of the business and its governance structure.
