British Airways will increase Latin America capacity by 25% for summer 2027, reshaping several long-haul routes from London Heathrow. Buenos Aires will move to a daily nonstop service, Santiago will be linked via Buenos Aires, and the schedule also adds more flying to Cape Town and Las Vegas as the airline adjusts capacity across leisure and VFR markets.
The changes take effect from late March 2027 and extend BA’s long-haul network into a stronger summer programme. Rio de Janeiro will receive dedicated capacity, while San José in Costa Rica becomes a year-round route at three weekly flights. Cape Town rises from seven to ten weekly services and Las Vegas from 13 to 14 weekly flights. The revised pattern shifts capacity within South America rather than simply adding new frequencies, with BA targeting demand across Latin America, Africa and the US west coast.
