Aena Group airports handled 41,381,404 passengers in August 2026, up 4.7% year on year, as the operator sustained strong late-summer traffic across Spain, the UK and Brazil. Aircraft movements rose 4.5% to 330,526, while freight volumes fell 5.7% to 116,723 tonnes.
The Spanish airport network accounted for 34,890,784 passengers, also 4.7% higher than a year earlier, with 273,292 aircraft movements and 104,356 tonnes of cargo. Aena’s international portfolio includes London Luton, Leeds Bradford and 17 airports in Brazil, giving the group a broad exposure to leisure and domestic travel markets across three countries.
For the January-August period, the group handled 272,247,393 passengers, up 4.1% from the same period in 2025. The August figures point to continued demand strength through the peak travel season, even as cargo volumes weakened versus last year.
