Korean Air begins booking migration and flight-number transition ahead of Asiana integration

Korean Air will begin moving Asiana Airlines bookings and flight numbers into its own system in a phased process from 2 November to 3 December, ahead of the integrated carrier’s launch on 17 December. Existing Asiana reservations and tickets for travel from that date onwards will be assigned Korean Air KE flight numbers as the two airlines complete their operational merger.

The migration is designed to minimise disruption and maintain system stability as Korean Air absorbs Asiana’s reservation and ticketing data. Passengers affected by the change will receive updated itinerary details individually by text message, messaging platforms and email before departure.

The Asiana OZ code will gradually disappear from bookings during the transition, with ticket and personal data transferred to Korean Air to support post-integration service. Korean Air has framed the staged rollout as part of its broader preparations for the launch of the combined airline, which remains scheduled for 17 December.
