Aero Asset’s latest half-year market review shows twin-engine helicopter retail sales rising 8% year on year in the first half of 2026, while inventory fell 33% to a five-year low. The Toronto-based firm also found heavy-twin median transaction pricing at its highest level in five years, alongside a 6% increase in overall median transaction prices and an improvement in absorption time from 18 months to 11 months.
The report points to a tighter used-aircraft market across the global twin-engine segment, with stronger seller pricing power and less available stock. North America remained the largest retail transaction region, accounting for 46% of global deals, while Europe recorded the strongest growth with a 75% increase in sales. Medium and heavy twins drove the improvement in activity, while light-twin sales weakened over the period.
The decline in inventory and faster absorption suggest demand is outpacing supply in heavier twin-engine models, a pattern that is likely to shape dealer sourcing, fleet renewal plans and acquisition strategies through the second half of the year.
