WFS renews China Eastern cargo handling contract at Stockholm Arlanda

Worldwide Flight Services has renewed its cargo handling contract with China Eastern Airlines at Stockholm Arlanda Airport as the carrier restores nonstop Shanghai–Stockholm service. The new three-year agreement covers the airline’s resumed Shanghai Pudong–Stockholm route, where China Eastern is operating three weekly round-trip flights and expects to carry more than 1,000 tonnes of cargo a year.

The service returned after a six-year gap in the Shanghai-Stockholm operation and re-establishes WFS as the airline’s handling partner in Sweden. WFS first handled China Eastern cargo in the country in 2018, and the company continues to work with the carrier in Copenhagen.

China Eastern’s schedule on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays restores a direct China–Sweden air link with both passenger and freight capacity. For Stockholm Arlanda, the contract strengthens cargo activity on a long-haul route linking the Nordic region with Asia, while giving WFS a renewed role in supporting the flow of belly cargo through the airport.
