ACIA Aero Leasing has delivered an ATR 72-600, MSN 1099, to Air Nostrum under a lease agreement, with the turboprop expected to enter commercial service immediately. The aircraft is configured with 72 seats and becomes the lessor’s first transaction with the Spanish regional operator, which uses Valencia as its base and flies regional services under the Iberia franchise.
The addition supports Air Nostrum’s shorter-haul network, where ATR turboprops are used on routes that favour lower-capacity, fuel-efficient aircraft. For ACIA Aero Leasing, the placement extends its activity in the regional aircraft leasing market and broadens its customer base in Europe.
Air Nostrum operates a sizeable network of domestic and international regional services from Spain, and capacity additions on thinner routes typically help preserve frequencies without deploying larger jets. The ATR 72-600 remains one of the main aircraft types used by European regional carriers for this role.
