Korean Air finalises record 103-aircraft Boeing order worth $36.2 billion

Korean Air has finalised an order for 103 Boeing aircraft valued at $36.2 billion at list prices, confirming the airline’s long-planned fleet commitment with a mix of wide-body, narrow-body and freighter jets. The deal, unveiled in Seoul, covers 20 777-9s, 25 787-10s, 50 737-10s and eight 777-8 Freighters.

Boeing described the transaction as a record order for Korean Air and the completion of a procurement commitment first outlined in August 2025. Deliveries are due to begin in the early 2030s, making the purchase a long-term fleet renewal and expansion move rather than an immediate capacity boost.

The Boeing aircraft package forms the core of a broader investment that also includes engines and maintenance support. Korean Air is modernising its fleet as it integrates Asiana Airlines and shifts toward newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft for future network growth.
